The Lily Pad Outflow Nozzle connects to standard stainless steel lily pipes so you can…
For best results, use the Lily Pad with an in-line CO2 diffuser. You may also have success placing a standard diffuser beneath the Lily Pad’s downward flow.
LET YOUR CARPETING PLANTS BREATHE
Most lily pipes do little to push water downward, making it hard to distribute important CO2 to your plants at the bottom. Compared to standard lily pipe outflows, the Lily Pad Outflow Nozzle directs more bubbles toward the bottom of your tank, right where your most demanding plants are likely to be.
DISSOLVE MORE CO2 WHILE INJECTING LESS
When exiting the Lily Pad, many CO2 bubbles take a long downward arc through the tank before reaching the water’s surface. This long, slow path gives the bubbles more time to dissolve, raising your dissolved CO2 levels while you inject less.
In testing, the Lily Pad roughly halved the needed carbon dioxide injection rate. Depending on your setup, your results could be a bit different – but you’ll likely find yourself taking your CO2 tank out for refill half as often!
Be sure to lower your injection rate and keep an eye on your CO2 drop checker when first installing the Lily Pad to avoid harm to your fish.
DISCOURAGE ALGAE GROWTH
Standard lily pipe outflows direct water into a focused jet. This can cause excessive water flow over nearby plants and hardscape, encouraging black beard algae to form. The Lily Pad Outflow Nozzle breaks up this jet of water by creating turbulent flow patterns that BBA takes less interest in.
